Scores Announced for Final Day of the 20^th Annual Baltimore City Public Schools Basketball Academy

(Baltimore, Maryland – January 18, 2016) – The Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) Basketball Academy released scores from the final Academy game, a high school tournament that combines academics + athletics to prepare the state’s top basketball players for college.

1:45 pm         52 – 45         Milford Mill vs. Friends (Boys)
3:00 pm         49 – 29         Thomas Stone vs. Dunbar (B)
4:15 pm         59 – 49         Theodore Roosevelt vs. City College (B)
5:30 pm         67 – 59         IMHOTEP vs. Riverdale Baptist (B)
6:45 pm         44 – 34         Woodlawn vs. Lake Clifton (B)
8:00 pm         64 – 54         Wesleyan Christian vs. Patterson (B) presented by Under Armour

Team in BOLD is winner

The BCPS Basketball Academy is the largest and most-successful program of its kind, which immerses high school athletes in academics, college admissions orientation, SAT prep, Rites of Passage, gang awareness, bullying prevention and competitive basketball games. Tickets to the Academy cost $10 per day. Children under five years old are admitted free. Advanced tickets can be purchased at participating schools or on the day of at Morgan State University Hill Field House.

The Academy was held from January 14-16 with special 20^th Anniversary tributes throughout the weekend. On the final day during halftime was a special tribute to the following deceased individuals: Ray Short, Daryl Kennon, Bill Spivy (Referee), Dr. Walter Amprey, Sherron Bogues, Justin Fields and K-Swift.
